Anyone good at fixing printers?!

Looking for someone more proficent with technology than me (not difficult!) to fix our printer- keeps jamming paper and making odd noises.Will pay in either free food and coffee at Urban Pantry or cash.Need it fixed ASAP so get in touch : kate@urby-p.com or 0208 994 1444:D

:)  The problem is that is so oftens happens when you have a deadline.  There ought to be a word for all the time wasted on machines when they don't work.  There should be a way of measuring the time lost with the time saved.

Thanks everyone for your help! I had a few emails from people with some suggestions and used these posts to fix it myself (an internal part was jammed and causing all the paper to jam). Thanks again!

What actually happened with OP, Kate's, printer?  No word from her, was it fixed or did she buy another one?

Printer wise, have always bought Canon, currently an MG5750, and have always used Prink cartridges - never a problem with either of them.

if you do decide to buy a new one buy a model that has been around for a few years . There is a greater choice of compatible cartridges available and you are less likely to have compatibility issues.

The standard first step is to turn it upside-down and shake out the paper clips and other debris.Otherwise try Fuselodge in Acton Lane near Southfield Road.

Agree entirely, Denis. Trying to mend printers these days is a waste of time and money, considering the prices of new ones.

If you bang the make and model number into Google or similar you may find instructions from the maker on how to clear this problem.

Not me!But you will need to state the model number/type as some of the higher end models are extremely complex.
