Dog sitter over Xmas

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are having to travel overseas for Christmas. We have never left our lovely Labrador to anyone other than family and are hoping that there is a dog lover willing to have him in their house for three nights (24-27 December). Dorota - you pay (if memory serves) something like £99 to join. There are no other fees. The sitter stays in your house for free - no charges.

Thank you for the recommendation, are there set fees for sitters or do they determine what to charge? What is the average fee?

I've used trustedhousesitters.com repeatedly over the years (the sitter stays in your house) and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

I came across this echange from a few years ago when searching for dog sitter recommendations and it is very relevant to my needs this year, Would anyone be able to recommend a dog sitting service? We visited some kennels but they made me think too much of a dog pound.

I have only just seen your request, and in the unlikely event that you have not yet found anyone, would love to come forward. My children (22 and 26) and still mostly home based would be absolutely thrilled to have a dog (and especially a Labrador) over Christmas. If not then, please be aware that free dog sitting at other times could be on the cards.
