We live in a flat once occupied by Eamonn Andrews, which reputedly had many areas furbished in orange. Only a grubby kitchen blind remained, but shortly after we replaced it, an Irish TV team came asking if anything remained which evoked Andrews's time here. We had to disappoint them. The flat was later owned by the widow of Michael Flanders, and, presumably, her daughter Stephanie, erstwhile BBC Economics expert, from whom we bought the place. Then there's me, though so far those compiling the Honours List have inexplicably overlooked my many merits. I put this down to political intrigue, or cultural blindness at the Palace. My blue plaque time will come.
