Closure leaves another hole in the centre
Last Sunday HMV shut stores in Birmingham, Brighton, Croydon, Ealing, Glasgow, Liverpool, Nottingham, Oldham and Plymouth.
It's central position on Ealing Broadway means its closure will not go unnoticed.
Here are a selection of views/opinions and comments following the news on social network site twitter:
Just found out the Ealing HMV is closing down tomorrow. Sad times. Damn you, The Recession! (@FilmFan1971 )
It's sad that HMV in Ealing closing down. Many memories of getting down there early for the Oasis albums (@manicvic )
The HMV in Ealing is closing, leaving no CD/DVD shops in the town. Slightly depressing. (@ jamesmrobinson)
What will happen to the site?
What would you like to see it become?
Space reserved for local small business owners, supporting local resilience & families. Ealing Broadway is sterile enough (@cottalott )
as long as there isn't another bloody pound shop I don't mind! A department store would be good but that will never happen. (@KelleeAshlee )
would like Gap. Will get pound shop or international food centre (@amnotfunny)
