Open garden weekend with local participation
The annual National Gardens Festival Weekend takes place this weekend with proud gardeners across England and Wales throwing open their doors for charity.
You can check here to see if any of your neighbours might be involved.
Jane Milton has sent us these images of her colourful garden and is taking part for the first time this year.
She says the garden (34 Ridding Lane Greenford UB6 0JY) will be open on the evening of 4th June 6-8pm and Sunday 5th June from 2-5pm , refreshments are included in £6 ticket price (£ concessions) and the money raised all goes to cancer charities.
George Plumptre, Chief Executive of the National Gardens Scheme says: ''With so many beautiful gardens open across the festival weekend, visitors have the opportunity to benefit from lots of options to visit gardens. Many will be full of surprises and in most cases you can round off your visit with a delicious home-made tea. Last but not least, you can leave knowing that as well as having had a good time, the money you have spent will go directly to charity to benefit others.''
London gardens raised over £2m last year.
