The Ealing Half Marathon is already west London's largest running event
June 22, 2026
Ealing Half Marathon has secured a major new backer, with Wizz Air confirmed as the event’s title sponsor for the next three years. The partnership places west London’s flagship running weekend within the airline’s growing portfolio of European mass-participation events, now part of the WIZZ Run Series.
The 2026 race will take place on Sunday 27 September, with more than 8,000 runners expected to take to fully closed roads across the borough. Since its launch in 2012, the Ealing Half has become the largest running event in west London and has been voted the UK’s best half marathon three times, thanks to its lively atmosphere, community support and the now-famous “#EalingFeeling”.
Wizz Air’s involvement marks the airline’s ninth major running partnership across Europe, joining events in Milan, Budapest and Rome. In 2025, nearly 140,000 runners took part in Wizz Air-sponsored challenges. As part of the WIZZ Run Series, Ealing participants will be eligible for prizes based on the kilometres they complete across the airline’s partnered events, including the WIZZ All You Can Fly subscription.
Yvonne Moynihan, Managing Director of Wizz Air UK, said the airline was drawn to the event’s inclusive spirit. “Ealing Half Marathon is one of London’s most popular running events, bringing together thousands of runners, supporters and local communities for a fantastic day. Like low-cost aviation, running is accessible for all. We’re proud to be the title sponsor of an event that brings people together, inspires participation and creates an electric atmosphere for runners and spectators alike.”
For the organisers, the partnership represents a milestone moment. Sandra Courtney, Event Director at RaceNation Events, said: “Fifteen years ago, we started the Ealing Half Marathon with a simple idea: to create something the whole community could be proud of. Having Wizz Air join us as Headline Sponsor in 2026 is a genuine milestone — not just for the event, but for everyone who has run, volunteered, or stood on the pavement cheering a stranger on.”
WE RUN EALING, the event’s charitable beneficiary, also welcomed the announcement. Chair and Trustee Tom Kerry said the sponsorship would help secure the future of an event that has become a source of pride for the borough. “Its reputation as London’s friendliest, most inclusive and community-minded event attracts people from well beyond Ealing and London. With Wizz Air now on board as title sponsor, we can secure the future of this inspiring event, help it grow and share that #EalingFeeling far and wide.”
The Ealing Half Marathon, Ealing Feeling 5K and Ealing Mini Mile will all return as part of the 2026 weekend. Full entry details are available on the event website.
