Filming taking place in suburban back-garden
Rob Hurtt
An Ealing director currently making a short psychological horror film put out an advance warning to his neighbours this week.
Rob Hurtt informed the police and used the Neighbourhood Watch channel OWL to tell locals that his latest film short ‘ ‘The Lock Keeper’ was to be filmed in his back garden in Radbourne Avenue (Tuesday 4 June) and not to be alarmed.
The short feature focuses on a delusional man ‘Stanley Heal’ and a fight scene between various characters takes place outside which Mr Hurtt feared might be mistaken for real violence.
He said ‘’ I knocked on doors and told as many people as I could about what was happening but just wanted to get the message out because if you hear raised voices and sounds of a fight and don’t see the cameras it could be quite worrying.’’
Mr Hurtt’s other films have met with critical acclaim with ‘Come Outside’ being described as ‘the strangest thing I’ve ever seen!’ by Ricky Gervais and Michael Palin saying of the film ‘WAVE’ - Truly odd and quirky film making.
Hurtt is currently on the lookout for support from Ealing based businesses and individuals.
He said: “Ealing has such a wonderful film history and it is about time that classic, innovative and edgy films are produced here once again. My films will put Ealing back on the map!
