Closures of the A4 in Brentford under the elevated section of the M4 are likely to cause traffic problems in Ealing in the coming weeks.
Work on the structure of the flyover by Highways England to carryout hydro demolition to remove concrete the structure, and repair and rebuild the pier is taking place until a scheduled finish date of 15 December.
To enable the work the Great West Road (A4) needs to be closed between Clayponds Avenue and Ealing Road in both directions.
One lane of the A4 will be permanently closed for the duration of the work and the road is being fully closed overnight between 10pm and 5pm Monday to Friday.
There are going to be full weekend closures from 10pm on the Friday until 5pm on the Monday on the following weekends: 26th-29th October, 2nd-5th November, 9th-12th November and 16th-19th November.
The diversion routes designated by Transport for London will be along Ealing Road, Uxbridge Road and the A406 for eastbound traffice with westbound traffic advised to use the A4.
The H91 bus route that uses the A4 through the works area will continue to have access. The bus stops between Clayponds Avenue and Ealing Road will be suspended.
There are cycle tracks on the footway along the A4 - these will remain open throughout the works.
There were substantial traffic delays at the weekend in the Brentford, Chiswick and Ealing areas during a previous weekend closure.
TfL advise, "While these closures are in place, surrounding roads will be busier. Expect delays to your journey, plan ahead and leave more time.
"For access to key areas in west London, such as Heathrow Airport, your journey may be quicker using rail or underground services, such as the Piccadilly Line."
