New Sensory Room Opened at The Log Cabin

State of the art facility helps children with disabilities de-stress and have fun

The centre provides care and activities for children with additional needs and disabilities

The Log Cabin Charity has recently refurbished and opened a new sensory room for children with disabilities and additional needs.

The state of the art facility includes interactive walls, a vibrating chair and much more. These rooms help children engage their sensory stimulation, improve movement and spatial co-ordination, de-stress, communicate, improve focus but most importantly play and have fun.

The Log Cabin’s sensory room combines the latest technology to provide a totally immersive sensory experience for the children.

The charity, which is based on Northfield Avenue, has been providing inclusive play opportunities over 40 years for children across Ealing, with a focus on children with additional needs and disabilities.

It offers after school, weekend and holiday clubs. Children can choose from a wide range of activities such as: soft play, computer gaming, role-play, arts and crafts, sports, active and group games, dance, music, drama, gardening and cooking and quiet games.

It also has a large outside area with water and sand play, and a multi-use games area. During the holidays, the charity takes the children out on trips such as off-site to go swimming, the theatre, a day outing to the zoo, trampolining and other attractions. High staff ratios mean children’s needs are attended to.

Its service for Afterschool Club starts at £14 and childcare vouchers are accepted for all of services. For more information visit: www.thelogcabincharity.org.uk.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
