A police officer has been injured whilst arresting a man outside Ealing Broadway station this Wednesday evening (8 February).

In an operation involving over ten officers a man was detained at around 8pm.

The police have said that the incident was not terrorism related. The officer hurt has an injured finger.

A police spokesman said, "Police were called at around 8:05pm on Wednesday, 8 February following a report of a man in Ealing Broadway believed to be in possession of a knife.
Officers attended and a man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon."

The man was taken into custody at a west London police station where he remains.
