Fundraiser for Cancer Research smashes target

A ten-year-old girl from Ealing has surpassed all expectations by helping to raise over £1,600 for a virtual cake sale for Cancer Research UK.
Her mother has cancer and the Christ the Saviour pupil, who had already donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust when her mum lost her hair due to chemo, set up a bake sale at her school to raise money.
Her aunt Sarah, who lives over 100 miles away, wanted to help out so set up a virtual cake sale on GoFundMe to allow those who couldn’t make it to the school to donate.
She said, “I started the fundraiser as I wanted to show my support to her fundraising and ‘buy a cake’ as I am so proud of her. She’s been through/going through so much but is still thinking of others.
“I thought it might raise about £100 - I put it on my social media but it’s raised £1600 which is utterly amazing.”
Some of her niece’s classmates have started fundraising for the same charity to show their support.
Sarah adds, “You won't get a sugar rush but you will get the warm fuzzy feeling of raising money for charity and showing support for an amazing 10 year old who just wants to help.”
