Detectives are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in Scotch Common, North Ealing, which left a young woman critically injured.
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 5pm on Wednesday, 17 September, after reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
Initial enquiries suggest that the motorcycle was travelling down the middle of the carriageway prior to the incident. The pedestrian, a woman in her twenties, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where she remains in a critical condition. Her family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
The motorcyclist failed to stop at the scene. Police believe the rider briefly returned to the area before continuing along Pitshanger Lane.
Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant dashcam footage or information, to come forward. Those with details are asked to contact police by calling 101 or submitting information online, quoting reference CAD4909/17SEP.
Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or completing an online form.
