Local Photo And Framing Shop Turns Into Film Set
Snappy Snaps in Chiswick was invaded by a film crew yesterday (March 4th) filming an episode of the BBC series "People Just Do Nothing".
The shoot took 2 hours and will be broadcast at the end of May or early June. The series is filmed by Rough Cuts independant production company.
" I've never had so many people queuing to get in at 7 am before," commented John Fitzgerald, owner of the Chiswick store.
"It was fun to watch a clip being recorded but I always marvel at the number of people required to record a 3 minute scene.
"Fortunately within five minutes of finishing, it was back to normal at the store with the far more serious job of serving Chiswick's Photographic and Framing needs"
People Just Do Nothing is a mockumentary series first broadcast last July which follows the highs and lows of one of West London’s most talked about pirate radio stations (within a 0.2 mile radius of the transmitter) - ‘Kurupt FM’.
Led by self-proclaimed garage ‘legend’ MC Grindah, and his second in command DJ Beats, this hapless crew of social dropouts continues to share the secrets of running an illegal business.
Aside from chasing his dreams, the second series sees Grindah struggling to deal with the fact that he’s no longer the breadwinner in his household, as his girlfriend Miche embarks on a new career (two week trial period) at a local hair salon.
DJ Beats is still trying to show his girlfriend Roche that he’s a capable, high achieving individual and a suitable role model for her son Craig.
Over at the portacabin, things aren’t looking good for local entrepreneur and Kurupt FM ‘fixer’, Chabuddy G. His wife, Aldona, has been missing for the last two months and he’s beginning to worry she might never come back. That said, his recent credit card statement suggests she might currently be partying in the Maldives.
The show started life in 2010 as a YouTube series that was filmed and edited by Asim Chaudhry (Chabuddy G) before the BBC commissioned a pilot in July 2012, which became the most shared iPlayer show for the month. A four part series was eventually commissioned, which first aired on iPlayer in July 2014, then on terrestrial television the following month. It is broadcast on BBC Three.
