Chiswick High Road is set to get a Hilton branded hotel in the spring due to the conversion of the Best Western Palace at the junction with Chiswick Lane.
Just over a week ago the Hilton Group announced that it planned to open a new premium economy venue under the ‘Spark by Hilton’ brand.
The address of the new hotel was not revealed in the press release and Hilton did not respond when we asked for further details. However, the announcement did describe the venue as a ‘freshly renovated hotel will be set within restored Victorian townhouses matching Chiswick’s stylish, village-like vibe.’
It also revealed that the new hotel would have 105 rooms corresponding to the number currently at the Best Western which is also in the middle of a major refurbishment, although it is understood that the buildings it currently occupies were constructed in the 1930s not the nineteenth century.
We contacted the Best Western Group to get confirmation that this was the hotel being taken over by Hilton but did not get a response.

We also attempted to contact a director of London Metro Hotels Ltd, who were named by Hilton as its partner in the Chiswick venture. This company, which is based in Greenock Road in South Acton, is according to industry sources, likely to be the franchisee operating the hotel.
The same sources have confirmed that it is 71-73 Chiswick High Road location that is undergoing the brand switch and the Spark by Hilton web site for the Chiswick Hotel now includes this address and confirms an opening date in April.
For the time-being, the hotel continues to operate as a Best Western despite the major building work taking place at the site. Feedback from guests on Booking.com and Trip Advisor suggests that guests are happy with the way that the management is handling the works and the hotel continues to get good reviews, rated ‘Very Good’ on Booking.com.
Spark by Hilton, which was launched in 2023, is described as ‘a premium economy hotel brand at the intersection of value and consistency’ characterised by ‘thoughtful simplicity’. There are already 200 open locations globally including sites in Luton and Romford as well as Austria, France Germany and Spain. Generally, the ‘Spark by’ brand has a lower price point and more basic offering than a full-service Hilton Hotel. Stays include a free breakfast and the hotel will also feature a complimentary hydration station with fresh fruit as well as a 24/7 retail market.

Currently rooms in the Best Western in Chiswick can be obtained for under £100 a night and for £104 in January and February. It is not possible to book rooms on the Spark by Hilton site after the scheduled opening date, but they can be reserved on the Best Western listing on sites like Booking.com. The prices rise significantly after the rebranding dates with Booking.com advertising standard rooms starting from £200 in May.
The hotel has off-street parking at the rear of the venue. Although feedback from guests often refers to parking at the hotel being free, the Best Western web site states this costs £12 per day but according to the Spark by Hilton site it will be £14.
Nick Smart, vice president, development, UK, Ireland and Nordics, Hilton, said in the company’s press release, “Spark by Hilton Chiswick is not only a great example of the high-quality product we’ve come to expect from the Spark brand – it also showcases the fantastic conversion opportunity it offers to owners. This signing reflects Hilton’s ambitious plans to grow the brand in the UK, and as we look ahead to 2026 we look forward to announcing more deals, particularly in regional hotspots across the country.”
Denzil Ratnam, general manager, Spark by Hilton London Chiswick, added, “We’re excited to be partnering with Hilton to bring this project to life, offering guests a high-quality stay at great value in beautifully restored Victorian townhouses. Not only that, but by tapping into Hilton’s global network of guests and marketing resources, we can help drive occupancy and performance for Spark by Hilton London Chiswick from day one. We look forward to welcoming travellers and locals alike to experience the unique charm and convenience that this hotel will bring to West London.”
