A new Danish bakery looks set to open on Chiswick High Road in the former premises of clothes retailer Gap.

Ole & Steen Lagkagehuset has made a planning application (P/2021/3011) to Hounslow Council for new illuminated signage at 260-262 Chiswick High Road with permission requested as soon as possible.

The Danish based chain has over 90 branches world wide including ones in Paris and New York. 14 of its existing stores are in London including ones in the Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherd’s Bush and Notting Hill.

The company’s chief executive is Jason Cotta who was formerly managing director of Costa Coffee.

Lagkagehuset translates from Danish as layer cake house.

We contacted Ole & Steen who said they would get back to us later with more details about the planned opening.
