An application has been submitted on behalf of a premium cigar store for a new shop on Chiswick High Road.
Chiswick Cigars wants to convert number 129, formally Thai Retreat, into a retail premises selling cigars, cigar accessories as well as wines and spirits.
The company which has made the application is based at the address of City of London Cigars in Grays Inn Road in Holborn and the new venture is believed to be an expansion by this business.
Local commercial estate agent MJ Finn says on its website that it completed the signing of the lease for Chiswick Cigars earlier this month.
The web site of City of London Cigars shows a product range including handmade Cuban cigars which starts at £11.99 for a Romeo y Julieta Petit Julieta rising to £450 for a Cohiba Behike BHK 52. The latter incorporates the tobacco leaf "Medio tiempo" , which its web sites says offers exceptional character and flavour. The filler is made up of leaves from Volado, Seco and Ligero originating from the Vegas of San Juan y Martinez and San Luis.
Plans for the shop show it will contain a humidifier room.
An application has been made to the borough licensing department to sell alcohol for off premises consumption from 9am to 11pm every day. Comments must be submitted by 14 March.
