Trading from the basement of Bookcase the independent book shop
Bookcase at 268 Chiswick High Road
A new shop which buys and sells vinyl records has opened in the basement of Bookcase at 268 Chiswick High Road.
Underground Vinyl has an eclectic selection of music including classical and pop with most of the stock second hand.
The store appears to have become immediately popular. Bookcase tweeted, "The love of vinyl is certainly alive and kicking in Chiswick! #UndergroundVinyl had a cracking opening weekend and it was lovely to meet so many passionate music lovers! Thanks to everyone who came by to wish us well and/or peruse our books & records!"
The shop cleared out its lower floor which was previously used for storage to make space for the new shop.
Bookcase has been trading at the same location since 26 May 1993 making it one of the longest surviving business in the centre of town and one of a dwindling band of non-chain stores in the heart of Chiswick.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.
Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
We’ve always done that and won’t be changing, in fact we’d like to do more.
However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.

If neither of these amounts is suitable for you then contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we can set up an alternative. All payments are made through a secure web site.
One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute.
