Benefit Beauty Shop Bids Goodbye to Chiswick

Yet another closure hits the High Road

Benefit beauty bar and make-up shop has become the latest victim of the recession. The shop, which employs six staff will close its door on January 28th.

Staff have been re-located to other branches throughout the city. The Chiswick branch of the American-founded chain, which introduced a whimsical and ‘ candy store’ atmosphere to its shops, had been open for less than three years.

It is understood that the premises will be taken over by a dry-cleaning company which already has branches in Chiswick.

Mystery surrounds the fate of the bar 18 20 at the other end of the High Road, which opened before Christmas and has suddenly closed. A notice  posted on the door states that the landlord has instructed Bailiffs to act as their agents.
