A beautiful home should feel unmistakably yours. It should respect its architecture, support the way you live and become richer and more personal over time.
Behind many West London front doors are houses with wonderful bones, from tall ceilings and generous proportions to fireplaces that have warmed a century of winters. Yet so often their layout no longer suits the way we live today.
Founded by interior designer Erick Jordao, Studio Jordao creates warm, refined interiors with character and soul. Drawing on almost 20 years of international experience, including several years at A&D London, Erick combines architectural understanding with an instinctive approach to colour, materials, furniture and atmosphere.
This recently completed Edwardian home in West London reflects that philosophy. The house kept its beautiful proportions, high ceilings and five original fireplaces, but its fragmented layout no longer worked for contemporary family life.
Instead of removing its history, Studio Jordao used it as the foundation for the design. All five fireplaces were retained and three lovingly restored, while the internal layout was carefully reconsidered. A new rear extension introduced a generous kitchen and family space, filling the house with light and opening it to the garden.
Natural stone, walnut, tactile fabrics and rich colour carry warmth from room to room. The result feels layered and collected rather than newly decorated, a home made for everyday life, family gatherings and quiet moments.
"Spaces are meant to be lived in. A home works when the people in it feel they truly belong."
Erick Jordao
