Ad - Rocks Lane Padel, Chiswick are proud to introduce W4 to the England Adaptive Padel Team, formed in September 2023.

As soon as the team at Rocks Lane Padel met Jack Binstead, when he came along to let off some steam, play some padel and have some fun (bearing in mind, this was the first time he’d picked up a padel racket) they were in awe of his drive, ambition and quick wit!
He soon decided that this was the sport that he wanted to take up full time.

“I remember going for that first session with Luke and as I was sweeping my arm round and connecting with that ball and pushing my chair, there was this immense feeling of release.

"I ended up craving that feeling so much that I started to come back four or five times a week. I still get that same feeling every time I go on court now.”

Rocks Lane Padel went onto welcoming Jack onto their player performance pathway which enables him and the team (formed soon after), to free training time on the Rocks Lane Padel courts, coaching and support for the Rocks Lane Adaptive Padel Team and coach, amongst other benefits to help the team achieve their ambitions. Turned out their ambitions were sky high. Read on!

Jack joins notable Rocks Lane Padel players on this programme including GB No1 players in varying age categories from juniors to seniors.

Jack and the team face some challenges however, they require significant funding to pay for high quality tennis wheelchairs to enable them to compete at a high standard representing England, perhaps one day bringing the trophy home to Chiswick!

Jack and the team have been making great progress in the Adaptive Padel world, gaining lots of interest, supporters and press coverage including competing at the Inclusive Padel Tour in Dubai in November 2023 and recently again in Milan. The team achieved a couple of wins against high level competition, didn’t win a trophy, but this just drives them forward to train better, train harder, whilst learning from the best international adaptive padel players.

Before padel, Jack had already gained a high profile as a Team GB athlete in wheelchair sports. He represented Great Britain in his youth as a Wheelchair Racer and played Wheelchair Snooker and Pool for Team GB. He has also made a name for himself as a television actor playing roles such as ‘Rem Dogg’ in Jack Whitehall’s BBC3 sitcom ‘Bad Education.’

The England Adaptive Padel Team are looking for team sponsors as they take on the rest of the world tour across 2024. They are speaking to global enterprises and local businesses with mutually beneficial high profile opportunities to collaborate.

The team have been training at Rocks Lane Chiswick whenever they get opportunity getting ready for the IPT round 2 in Barcelona. All between demanding work and family commitments. They are truly dedicated to achieving their ambitions and are seeking equally motivated sponsors who share their vision.

This sport is truly inclusive and accessible. Other adaptive padel players have had a great time mixing in with the popular padel socials. Rocks Lane Chiswick is home to 4 tennis wheelchairs, available for anyone to give adaptive padel a go!

The team are eager to increase their visibility in the world of padel tennis.
