An exciting day of all things CHEESE and introducing the Cheesewick Cow

Since its inception in May 2021, the Chiswick Cheese Market has donated more than £20K to charity, partnered with the Academy of Cheese to offer 4 annual grants, become a sponsor of the Affineur of the Year Awards and won a Community Impact award.

And now we are bringing even more cheese to Chiswick!

The Big Cheese Weekender (13 – 15 October), the Academy of Cheese’s annual celebration of all things cheese, will culminate with a live market takeover at the Chiswick Cheese Market on 15 th October! As London’s only specialist cheese market, they’ll feel right at home and so will you!

Supersize our market! Our regular monthly cheese market featuring over 180 artisan cheeses, accompaniments and accoutrement will be extended with additional traders, hot food and beverages, demonstrations, competitions, live entertainment and performances including Morris dancers and a steel ban.

Come meet our ‘moo’gnificent market mascot! Making her market debut in October is our very own (as yet unnamed – competition to come!) model Friesian dairy cow. She’ll be in her own gazebo and she’s and photogenic ready for her close-up – take a #cheesewick selfie!

Tastes of the Unexpected, 12pm at the George IV pub, £35

No ordinary pairing! Wine and cheese are classic pairings but what happens when you veer off that well-trodden path? We’ve invited six beverage enthusiasts to engage with some of our cheese mongers to entice you beyond the expected! They have 1 hour to convince of you of their delicious ingenuity and then it’s put to the vote for the ‘Unusual Pairing 2023’ award! Tickets and info here

A Cracking event!2pm at the George IV pub, £30 Spin the Cracker Wheel: A Cracker Pairing Masterclass. Cheese writer, educator, Big Cheese Weekender co-founder and all round cheese legend, Patrick McGuigan will be spinning Peter’s Yard cracker wheel to create the cheese and cracker pairings. Patrick will guide us through pairings to enhance the flavour of cheese and how to build a better cheese board. Tickets and info here

Blue Badge Tour of Chiswick 11am – 12:30pm, meeting point: William Hogarth statue, £13.09 Chiswick really was Cheesewick! Blue Badge London Guide, Guy Fairbank will take you on a circular tour of historic Chiswick. Meet a murderous lord, a bit of a showman, and of course learn about the famous cheese farm which gave us our name. Tickets and info here

On top of our normal range of over 180 Artisan cheese, charcuterie, chutneys, hand made boards and other wonderful cheesy stuff, we have live music, free live cheese making demos and meet the cheesemaker event.s
