Outstanding Nursery
The Beanstalk Montessori Nursery School situated between Chiswick and Hammersmith will soon celebrate 35 years of nurturing and warm early years education for children aged between 2 to 5. The school has been awarded Outstanding by Ofsted for the past 15 years and is the place where children settle easily, form lasting friendships and become part of a community where they are loved and valued for being themselves.
What do children experience when they are at The Beanstalk?
The Beanstalk believes strongly that love and empathy is at the heart of learning. Children whose feelings are respected grow into strong and confident individuals. Our children are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning by choosing their own activities, helping themselves to snack and tidying away their toys and resources, with the help of positive and encouraging teachers. Teachers pride themselves on treating every child as an individual and get to know each family very well.
How do I know that my child will settle in well?
We arrange for the Key Teacher allocated to your child to come for a ‘Home Visit’ prior to the child’s first session at The Beanstalk. This helps the child to form a secure bond with their teacher as they settle into their new nursery. We encourage parents to stay for the first day or two, and the child will usually be happy to wave goodbye after the first week of settling in.
Does the nursery have a varied curriculum?
We offer the structure and independence of a Montessori prepared environment. We also follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, which brings exciting learning opportunities such as yoga, messy art activities, cooking activities and woodwork, along with Playball sessions with Coach Craig.
Does the nursery have good outdoor space?
When prospective parents tour The Beanstalk, they are amazed by the magical, large garden where children can move freely and engage with nature. We go outside every day to play, in all seasons, come rain or shine. The children can climb, run, make mud pies, and hide in the bushes with their friends whilst learning to take care of the environment.
