Thorgills Estate Agents is to vacate its premises at Turnham Green Terrace, saying that serving Chiswick customers from Brentford has been successful.

The company has had a presence on the Terrace for the past three years. The company said that with such high commercial rents in Chiswick at the moment, "a high street presence has proved to be a superfluous burden."

Managing Director Ben Madden said; "A year ago we took the decision to close our Hammersmith and Ealing branches to centralise all of our lettings, sales, property management and business support teams at our Brentford branch, and since then, without our usual team in the Chiswick branch, we have helped more Chiswick homeowners than ever and this has demonstrated to us that we do not need a high street presence to be successful; in fact with such high commercial rents in Chiswick at the moment, a high street presence has proved to be a superfluous burden.

“Our team of 40 local experts have been based in our busy Brentford office, on the riverside by Watermans Arts Centre for a year now and spend much of their day meeting homeowners and prospective buyers and tenants in Chiswick and across West London."

He said they were still close by if people wanted to visit their office and have a face-to-face chat instead of a phone call.

Thorgills was founded in 2008. It opened its branch in Turnham Green Terrace in March 2017 taking over the former premises of Faron Sutaria.

MD Ben Madden said he had long-standing links with Chiswick, as a former pupil of Chiswick School in the 1990s, and it was a momentous personal achievement when Thorgills moved its Chiswick office to Turnham Green Terrace three years ago

“We have loved being part of the Turnham Green Terrace neighbourhood, and our support for the Chiswick community including the Bedford Park Festival and Grove Park Primary School remains as strong as ever.”
