Jamie Theakston's Chiswick House Up For Sale

Broadcaster's home would be most expensive W4 property without river view

Celebrity broadcaster Jamie Theakston’s five bedroom home in Barrowgate Road is up for sale for £6.5 million.

The detached villa, if sold at that price, would become the most expensive property without a river view to come up for sale locally and the second most expensive ever to be sold in Chiswick.

Designer Jasper Conran smashed property records when he sold Walpole House through Savills for £12.5m in 2008 having purchased the Chiswick Mall home for £7.2m in 2006.

The 5,100 square foot property is being marketed by Hamptons International and is described as the perfect family home. It came onto the market early this year and it is understood there has been a good deal of interest from potential buyers.

The ground floor has off street parking for two cars and an integral garage. There are four reception rooms leading out to a 121 foot rear garden with summer house and the option for additional off street parking.

The first floor provides what is described as a "stunning" master suite with his and hers dressing areas, two further bedrooms and a family bathroom. The second floor provides the fourth and fifth bedrooms with a second family bathroom. The basement houses the wine cellar, plant room and utility room.

Extensively renovated over the past two years, it has been described by the agents as an excellent famiy home in one of London’s most popular family postcodes.

The most recent property in that price range in Chiswick was Zachery House at Strand-on-the Green which went on sale last year for £6.95 million but that home had river views.
