Tennis Star Greg Rusedski Praises Will to Win

Chiswick tennis club tops league table for junior players

Tennis star Greg Rusedski praised Will to Win's network of parks tennis centres, which includes Chiswick, after it was named Club of the Year for Middlesex county.

The local club in Chiswick was also singled out for praise by Middlesex LTA last year for topping the league table of regularly competing junior players.

"It's great to get this award from Middlesex Lawn Tennis Association and to see our commitment to community tennis recognised in this way," said Will to Win director  Steve Riley.

"We believe passionately in getting more kids and adults of all ages and abilities playing tennis and everyone in our team works really hard to make the sport as accessible as possible so everyone can play and love tennis as much as we do."

Rusedski was on hand at the National Tennis Centre in London on 21 January to present the Club of the Year award to Will to Win Director Steve Riley and meet some of Will to Win's junior players.

"It's great to see places like Will to Win bringing tennis to the whole community and making sport accessible and affordable for kids and adults to play," said Rusedski. "I'm really pleased that a parks tennis facility has won this award because it sends the message that tennis is for everyone - no matter what age or ability you are - and that learning to play can be as easy as heading down to your local park."

Will to Win runs parks tennis centres at Regents Park, Hyde Park, Chiswick, Lammas Park (Ealing) and Greenwich Park, as well as running the tennis programme at the Pavilion club near Hampton. As well as providing drop-in sessions, affordable coaching, court hire and cardio tennis for adults, all Will to Win centres offer free tennis for under-16s between 3pm - 6pm on weekdays.
