Old Meadonians Football Club Welcomes a New Era

With the launch of a Women's Football Team in Chiswick

Old Meadonians Football Club, with a rich history dating back to its formation in 1929, is excited to announce the creation of its first-ever women's football team. This initiative represents a significant expansion from the club's roots, founded by alumni of Chiswick Grammar School, into a club that offers adult football to all. This builds on the launch of a Walking Football team for over 50s at the start of the year.

This new initiative isn't just about fielding a new team; it's an embodiment of the club’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting inclusivity in sports. We are actively seeking a dynamic team manager, dedicated players, and enthusiastic volunteers to help run this exciting new side.

Special Incentive for Aspiring Team Manager

Recognising the pivotal role of a team manager, Old Meadonians are dedicated to not only finding the right individual for this position but also investing in their development. The club will support the new team manager in qualifying for their football coaching badges, offering a fantastic opportunity for personal and professional growth in the world of football coaching. This support underlines our commitment to excellence and the development of our managers and players alike.

Embracing women's football is more than a nod to diversity; it's about acknowledging and tapping into the vast potential and passion for the sport among women. Participation in football offers numerous health benefits, enhancing physical fitness, mental well-being, and fostering a sense of community and teamwork. Our aim is to create a vibrant environment where women can thrive both on and off the pitch.

Join The Team!

We are calling out for players who are eager to be a part of this new journey. Regardless of your skill level, if you have the enthusiasm and commitment, there's a place for you in our team. As a player, you'll benefit from a supportive environment focused on skill development, teamwork, and personal growth.

For those with leadership aspirations, the role of team manager offers a unique chance to shape the direction and spirit of this new team, with the added benefit of professional development support from the club.

We also welcome volunteers to assist in various aspects of running the team, from logistics to event planning. Your involvement will be key to the smooth operation and success of our team.

Training and Friendly Matches

Our women's team will begin by training every Wednesday evening, a perfect opportunity to build skills, camaraderie, and prepare for competitive play. We'll arrange friendly matches to put our training into practice, with the ultimate aim of joining a league and competing in the 2024/25 season.

Joining our women's football team means more than just playing a sport; it's about becoming part of a community that values inclusivity, diversity, and the joy of football. Whether as a player, team manager, or volunteer, there's a place for everyone at Old Meadonians.
