PHC Chiswick's First XI win Middlesex Women’s League Premier Division
Another win is on the cards this weekend for the PHC Chiswick women’s 1st X1 hockey team as they continue to plough through the 2010 / 2011 hockey season unbeaten, and without dropping a point, so far.
With two matches left in the competition the team has claimed the title of the Middlesex Women’s League Premier Division and will be promoted to the South League next September.
The season thus far has witnessed 60 goals for the team and only 9 against. A strong defence and encouraging attack have showcased a competitive and talented PHC Chiswick women’s hockey side. No doubt the coaching, intensive physical training and vibrant social scene contribute to a strong and cohesive team unit.
The team is composed of a very diverse squad with grit and flair coming from competitive grade hockey all over the world, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and of course the more local English and Irish, with their National Premier League experience. Heart, aggression and sheer desire at times allies with technical skill, as for many of these women hockey has been a part of their lives for many years.
The successful women’s 1st XI hockey team is a key part of the ambitious PHC Chiswick Hockey Club. Currently based at the Linford Christie stadium, East Acton, PHC Chiswick are actively seeking new talent for the 2011 / 2012 winter season to further expand on their 7 Men’s, and 6 Women’s teams.
PHC Chiswick is a friendly and welcoming hockey club for all ages and abilities. The season runs from September to March, and for those who really love their hockey a summer league is also available.
