It’s been a good first season for Chiswick – with a win percentage of nearly 50%. Throughout the league campaign, there were great wins against Pro Futsal, Enfield and Barking. The club also thrashed Braintree Futsal Club 24-7, in their biggest win of the season and one of the standout performances in the League.
Interim first team player-manager, Jamie Tomkins said, “It’s been a great first season for the club and a project that I’ve been really proud to be part of - the players work rate, both on and off the court, has been second-to-none. I’m really proud of the team. I literally can’t wait for the FA Cup to kick-off in April now.”
Andrew Lee, Chairman of Chiswick Futsal Club said: “It might sound like a cliché, but I’m honoured and privileged to say that I’m the Chairman of this club. Finishing fifth in our first season, in what’s a very competitive league is a great achievement. I want to thank everyone who’s been involved in making Chiswick a Futsal force to be reckoned with, and long may it continue!”
The club also held their annual end of season awards night recently. Unai Alvarez won for top goal scorer, Eder Arrechea took the Managers Player accolade and Tim Amoui, Chiswick’s goalkeeper won the prestigious Players’ Player 2017 award.
Chiswick now look forward to taking their league form into the FA Cup. The club will play Warriors Futsal Club at the Leyton Score Centre on 23 April 2017 with a 12.00pm KO.
