Lorraine Angliss plans new opening on the High Road in March

In what represents a big vote of confidence in the future of the restaurant business in Chiswick, the owner of Annie's Restaurant is taking over the vacant Bill's site on the High Road.
Lorraine Angliss has confirmed that the new restaurant which will be named Rock & Rose is hoped that it can be opened by mid-March.
It brings to an end the mystery of what was going to happen to the prime site at 270-272 Chiswick High Road. Having opened with some fanfare in 2013, Bill's underwent a makeover just before the lockdown eased but never reopened despite the company's suggestions that it was intending to do so.
The planned opening marks a return of independent restaurants to the centre of Chiswick after they have largely been squeezed out by chains. Other local business owners have said a continuation of this trend could be crucial to the prospects for the High Road.
Annie's Restaurant on Thames Road, remains Lorraine's pride and joy, although she has said trading has been affected by the traffic restrictions in the area.

Before she set up Annie's she ran Coconut Grove and Peppermint Park before setting up Sticky Fingers for Rolling Stone Bill Wyman. Annie is Lorraine's middle name.
Rock and Rose is also the name of her highly successful restaurant on Kew Road which she established in 2009 and is the favourite of many Richmond residents. Her vision was to create a stylish, glamorous restaurant and cocktail bar where customers and comfort are a priority.
