New Cafe And Play 'Hub' For Parents And Carers

Soft play area for the kids and good coffee for the grown-ups at The Parent Hood

A new cafe hub for parents and carers of young children to spend time relaxing in a completely child-friendly zone, is opening on Chiswick High Road.

The Parent Hood is the brainchild of local residents, Tanya and Lottie, who are both mums to young children.

They say they are both familiar with the difficulties of negotiating buggies in narrow spaces in local coffee shops and wanted a place where mums, dads, and carers could relax knowing their children were playing in a safe environment where it did not matter if the children were noisy or messy.

The Parent Hood will open Monday, (29 April) on the site of the former peppermint shop, which sold baby and child buggies and nursery equipment.

The interior is divided into soft play zones with comfy couches and hot drinks and food will be sold.

The downstairs basement area is converted into a studio. Amanda's Action Kids will hold classes there, and it is also available for parties, ballet and dance classes.

Costs are £4 per hour for a child up to five years to play, and babies are £2. There are reduced prices for siblings.

They also plan to hold workshops on parenting-related issues.

The Parent Hood will be open seven days a week, from 9-6 Mondays to Saturdays, and Sundays 10-5.
