Nova Was Closed So That It Could Have 'A Better Opening'

Sudden 'refurbishment' complete and restaurant has opened

The owner of Chiswick's newest restaurant, Nova, which closed suddenly 'for refurbishment' only one week after it opened, has said it will be open to the public this week.

Nova restaurant, located at the former 1820 premises, opened two weeks ago saying it would serve "an expert fusion of modern European cuisine with hints of their combined cultural heritage."

However after a week it suddenly closed with a sign outside saying it was undergoing refurbishment. Calls to its telephone landline booking service were not being answered and tables could not be booked on its website.

However the owner told chiswickw4.com today that it had to close because of some technical hitches. The relevant work was now completed.

He said they decided while doing this work to undertake some more refurbishment and to make some changes to the menu.

"We closed so that we could have a better opening," he commented.

It was reported locally that the work involved improving sound insultation and a fire alarm linked to the upstairs flats.

The restaurant was open to the public on Saturday when chiswickw4.com checked.
