Chiswick pub makes Michelin guide

The Bollo recognised as one of top gastro-pubs in the UK

The continuing improvement of the local restaurant scene has been recognised by the prestigious Michelin guide in its latest publication.

In recognition of the major change in dining in recent years, they have for the first time published a guide to good quality food in pubs. 500 pubs in the UK and Ireland made the list including 40 in London, one of which was the Bollo House on Bollo Lane.

Still very much a pub, although much changed from the days when it was known as the Railway Tavern, the Michelin inspectors have rated it one of the best of its kind. The pub is consistently praised by local residents for the consistently high quality of their menu and the value of their lunch time special offers.

A spokesperson for Michelin said, "Pub food has changed a great deal over the last decade as more and more establishments put the emphasis on dining. Now Michelin opens the door to a selection of some of the best places, so you can be confident in your choice: after all, we have been promoting and enjoying good food for over a century."

The new guide – Eating Out in Pubs which is available in bookshops from today priced at £14.99.

In-depth descriptions and colour photographs give a real feel for the place and the type of cuisine on offer, and all entries are researched by the same inspectors who make The Michelin Hotel & Restaurant Guide, so you can be sure of the quality of the food.

Each establishment includes information on typical dishes and specialities, the beer they serve – including real ales and a classification for particularly good wine lists, and their availability by the glass.
