Pavilion restaurant at Latymer Upper’s Chiswick playing fields
October 18, 2024
A new restaurant is set to open in Chiswick at a sports ground on Hartington Road.
School Kitchen is a community-focused food initiative backed by a number of celebrity chefs. The venue at the Cricket Pavilion at the Latymer Upper School Sports Grounds, Quintin Hogg Memorial Grounds is opening on 25 October and is the second School Kitchen following the one in York that was set up earlier this year.
The company partners with schools to use their kitchens and turn an underutilised asset into an eco-friendly food service, where the school receives a share of the revenue. In this case money will be going to the Latymer Foundation to support its community education schemes.
SK Chiswick will offer dine-in and takeaway services with a selection of cuisines including Sri Lankan (Pirivena), Mexican (Quetzalcoatl). It will serve Sunday brunch and lunch, and the new ‘School Dinners’ menu which aims is to offer modern take on traditional school dinners.
It has been launched along with celebrity chefs including Matt Tebbutt, Mitch Tonks, Nadiya Hussain, Omar Allibhoy, Richard Corrigan, Tommy Banks, and Will Lockwood. Joining the household names is Neil Meyer, School Kitchen’s Executive Chef, and former Head Chef of Michelin-starred restaurant, Terrazza Bosquet in Sorrento, Italy.
Items on the menu include a fish pie from Mitch Tonks, Nadiya Hussain’s Cardamom rice pudding and an apple pie from Richard Corrigan.
Opening hours will be Monday to Friday 6pm-11pm, Saturday 12pm-11pm, and Sunday 9am-4pm. Initially, Monday and Tuesday will be bar only, and the restaurant will only be open for takeaways on Saturday.
The restaurant will be open for dining in on Friday and Sunday
The restaurant and bar will also be available for match day hospitality for players and visiting teams of Richmond Hockey Club and Polytechnic Football Club.
David Nicholson, CEO and Founder of School Kitchen, said, “We are incredibly excited to launch School Kitchen in London after the success and positive feedback from our flagship York location at Carr Junior School. Having a dine-in service gives even more opportunities for people to enjoy the good food and interact with the good team we have.
“It’s fantastic to be partnering with such esteemed chefs for our School Dinners menu, which brings together nostalgia and gourmet cooking. We’re offering a unique dining experience that celebrates the flavours of diners’ childhoods and also introduces them to exciting culinary creations. Creating food for good is part of our mission at School Kitchen, so this new menu will be important to help us fund school breakfasts.”
From Friday 25 October you can reserve a table on this link.
