Pasta Evangelists Planning High Road Opening

Application submitted for premises currently occupied by Oree

Oree continues to trade on Chiswick High Road

June 23, 2024

Fresh pasta specialist, Pasta Evangelists is considering opening in Chiswick what could be its first standalone restaurant.

The move would be a departure for the company which currently only has a restaurant in the Dining Hall at Harrods which is overseen by Michelin-starred chef Giancarlo Perbellini.

Otherwise, its products (P/2024/1937) are only available through online delivery services.

It has submitted an application to Hounslow Council for 340 Chiswick High Road for an advertising display and lighting. Currently, the premises is occupied by Oree Boulangerie which has been at the location for less than two years.

The Restaurant Magazine reported at the beginning of 2023 that Pasta Evangelists planned to launch 800 delivery outlets across the country but those that have opened appear to have been in a ‘dark kitchen’ format with no service for walk-ins.

It does run a series of Pasta Academies at which you can learn how to make fresh pasta across various venues.

Pasta Evangelists is a London-based startup in which Barilla, the world’s largest maker of pasta, took a majority stake in in 2021. Barilla started as a bakery shop in Parma in 1877.

The application for the site between the Little Dobbies shop and Pret a Manger is for the replacement of the existing fascia signage and projecting sign for Pasta Evangelists branding.

No details have been published for the interior of the shop and Pasta Evangelists has not responded to our requests for more details about its plans. It is therefore not known at this stage whether the venue could be used primarily for pasta masterclasses or as a café/restaurant offering takeaway.

We have also asked Oree Boulangerie for a comment about the future of its Chiswick branch.
