Looks Like Ngon has Gone from the High Road

Popular Vietnamese deli reportedly relocating to Shepherd's Bush

Ngon Deli appeared to be permanently closed this weekend

Fans of Ngon, a Vietnamese deli and café on Chiswick High Road, are in mourning this week after its apparent closure.

The premises are currently shut with no signs of activity and they are no longer taking delivery orders.

One member of the ChiswickW4.com forum says that he spoke with a member of staff who he spotted clearing out items from the unit and was told that the business was relocating to Shepherd’s Bush Green.

The small café was usually very busy and had a loyal local following with its banh mi (French style baguettes served with cold meats and veg) being particularly popular.

The venue also had a celebrity following with Sophie Ellis Bextor, Will Poulter and Rosie Fortescue from Made in Chelsea having been spotted there since it opened in 2013.

It was started by Chiswick resident Kevin Huynh and his wife Amanda. Kevin was brought up in London by Vietnamese parents and he wanted to bring the country’s food culture to the area. At the time Vietnamese cuisine was prevalent in east London but not in the west.

Ngon, which means ‘delicious’ in Vietnamese served classic dishes from the country such as 'Pho' noodle soups, Vietnamese coffees and well as the much-loved sandwiches.

There is already another branch of Ngon in the shopping centre at Hammersmith Broadway.

We tried to contact the management of Ngon to confirm these reports but did not get a response. There has been no update on the company’s social media channels, but the shop was closed this week with every indication that it was no longer operating as a café.
