Japanese Souffle Pancakes Coming to the High Road

A new café selling Japanese souffle pancakes is planning to open before the end of the year on Chiswick High Road.
CA Japanese Pancakes will serve the dish, which is already hugely popular in Japan, and of which awareness is being spread globally through social media due to its Instagrammable nature.
The new venture, which is its second outlet after the one in Victoria, is opening at 195 Chiswick High Road, the former premises on Ngon Deli, the café that used to serve Vietnamese Banh Mi. The Victoria outlet is believed to be the first café specialising in this dish in the UK.
Souffle pancakes have a light fluffy texture obtained by whipping egg whites. They are served in stacks with various toppings including whipped cream, syrup and fruit.
Aimed at the brunch market, they are gluten and dairy free and come in sweet and savoury flavours and the intent is to serve dishes that are also aesthetically appealing.
If you don’t want to try the pancakes a variety of other options will be available.
CA Japanese Pancakes director Marco Malone told us that the opening was planned for seven weeks’ time with a major renovation of the unit to take place.

It is the second planned opening to serve the brunch market on Chiswick High Road following the news that Levent Borek was intending to open across the road at the former Hoji premises.
