New Plan to Keep Swan Business Centre as Offices

Previous scheme to redevelop Fisher's Lane site as flats withdrawn

A new planning application has been submitted for the Swan Business Centre to expand the office space at the site on Fisher's Lane. A previous application to demolish the buildings and build sixteen two and three bedroom properties has been withdrawn.

The applicant Cygnus Estates Ltd wants to enhance and enlarge the centre by creating a new entrance at the front of the building and more ground floor office accommodation at the rear courtyard.

The parking space at the front of the site will be significantly reduced in size from 24 to 4 spaces.

The enclosure of the rear courtyard will be achieved through the installation of a butterfly roof, bringing together the existing single storey outbuilding with the rest of the building.

The internalisation works will create approximately 132 sqm (GIA) of additional office accommodation which the project's agents say will not increase the perception of the existing building’s bulk.

The business centre has been in operation for over twenty-five years providing service office accommodation of various sizes.
