Missing Camera Causing Local Concern

Security near the Hogarth roundabout could be at risk, say residents

Residents living near the Hogarth Roundabout have expressed concern about a missing security camera on the underpass that leads across the A4 from the end of Chiswick Lane to the river.

They say there have been muggings in the past and the camera was intended to be a deterrent as it records images of activity in the underpass from one of the entrances.

One local man who uses it on a regular basis, said he had reported vandalism of the camera to Hounslow Council on November 9th, 2012.

He said it appeared to have been replaced and then it disappeared again and the empty casing appeared to have been damaged. He was told the camera had been taken away for repair.

“If that is the case then I do feel that it is a long time for a repair to be carried out. How can it take that long to get a camera fixed? We are worried because there have been muggings in this area in the past and this could encourage criminal activity."

We have placed a query to Hounslow Council on the matter.
