Chiswick Scottish Country Dancers At Cultural Olympiad

Dancers a " reel hit" at Dukes Meadows at London 2012 finale

Chiswick Scottish Dancers were among a host of dance artists who captivated sun-soaked audiences on Sunday (9th September) in front of the Big Dance Bus at Dukes Meadows.

On a beautiful and sunny Sunday, Chiswick’s riverside was filled with families, performers and a host of entertainments to mark the finale of the Cultural Olympiad which formed the largest closing cultural event of London 2012.

Dancers from Chiswick’s Scottish Country Dance club were a “reel” hit with their display as they danced Mairi’s Wedding and Shiftin’ Bobbins, and helped everyone to have a go at the Circassian Circle.

“We are a local Scottish dance Club”, says Nick Haimendorf, Chairman, “and it’s wonderful to take part in a community event like this. We certainly enjoyed giving the display and by the sound of it so did our audience watching. It’s a great start to our new season on Sunday 16 th at St Michaels Church Hall ”
