Supply interruption from Gunnersbury to Strand on the Green
Some residents went over 12 hours without electricity
Large parts of Chiswick were hit by a major power cut this Friday evening (16 October) and supply was not completely restored in some areas the following morning.
The interruption to electricity started at around 7.20pm and was widespread with residents in Strand on the Green and around Gunnersbury reporting problems.
Power network company SSEN’s web site indicates that the problem is centred at the sub-station at the rear of Sainsbury’s in Essex Place and its latest update indicates that it was hoped that supply would be fully restored by 10am on Saturday.
Some residents have reported that their supply has returned earlier on Saturday morning.
You can join the power network company’s priority services register if you are elderly, have children under 5 in the household or have certain medical conditions. This gives you a dedicated 24 hour priority services phone number and priority updates during a power cut.
