Old Cinema furniture used in the blockbuster film Skyfall

Furniture purchased at the Old Cinema on Chiswick High Road features in the latest James Bond blockbuster, Skyfall.

A set of six vintage industrial chairs, supplied by Chiswick-based Ines Cole, who has a concession in the store, are used in a scene where Bond (Daniel Craig) is interrogated by the villain, Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem).

The set designer for the movie visited the High Road shop, which is famous for its distressed and retro furniture, several months ago. She purchased six of the chairs and a vintage German-made chandelier.

Ines Cole, who also supplies to Liberty in central London said;

"We are obviously thrilled about this.The chairs are a real classic. They are Tolix chairs from a French designer Xavier Pauchard. They were actually gold, and we stripped them down and took some of the vinyl off the back. The shape is just divine. It's a classic shape and very fitting with the Bond style".

Staff at the Old Cinema are looking forward to seeing the movie this weekend.

Manager Will Harness quipped:

“At first we worried the chairs might put in a wooden performance. But being made of steel, they played a good supporting role.”

Staff at the store on Chiswick High Road, which sells antique, vintage, retro, industrial , and upcycled furniture, said they were thrilled to have a link with the film.

The Old Cinema prides itself on being London's only department store devoted to selling antique, vintage, retro, industrial and upcycled furniture. It also sells decorative arts, lighting, jewellery and gifts and supplies interior designers, stylists, trade buyers and the public .

Skyfall is the 23rd adventure in the series and its UK release (October 26) coincided with the 50th anniversary of James Bond , which began with Dr. No in 1962.

In the latest film, Daniel Craig as 007 has his loyalty to M (Judi Dench) tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As M16 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. The movie is a huge international success.
