Army Music Honours For Chiswick Cadet
Success for local cadets at Army Band Camp
Corps of Drums leader Sergeant Debbie Adams from Chiswick was “absolutely ecstatic” when she was singled out at Band Camp as the Most Improved in the Adult Cadre.
ACFA President Lieutenant General AJN Graham CB CBE presented Sgt Adams with the trophy, pictured below.
With her on the week long music concentration at Longmoor Camp, Hampshire ( 20-27 th Oct) were Cadet Kym Hagger (14) from 207 Hammersmith Unit, Cadet Cameron Collis (15) of 206 Chiswick Unit and Cadet Sgt Ayla (16) from 203 Brentford Unit. All three passed their Two Star level music test at camp.
Sergeant Adams, of Acton Lane, has led the new Corps of Drums for less than a year and has produced some fantastic results. Debbie also plays the flute and she played solo at a concert on camp. With nine drummers and three flautists the Corps of Drums goes from strength and will be playing at a number of public engagements over the Remembrance period.

With over 300 cadets from England, Wales and Northern Ireland on camp, the cadets receive expert musical tuition and take part in other ACF training, including shooting, sports and archery. As well as taking their ACF music tests, cadets have the opportunity to take a CVQO led BTEC Music Diploma, a qualification equivalent to four GCSEs.
The Corps of Drums practice at the Army Reserve Centre, South Africa Road, White City on a Wednesday evenings 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
