Metropolis Studio To Open Academy In Chiswick


Courses to train people interested in the music industry

Metropolis Studios in Chiswick is to start an Academy in October to help aspiring music producers.

Based in the Grade II- listed former power station, on Chiswick High Road, the course will be taught by industry professionals and visiting guest lecturers.

The Metropolis has played host to international artists from the Rolling Stones to Rihanna, and the Black-Eyed Peas.

The Academy Programme will launch two courses; Mastering the Art of Music Production,(students will learn how to balance technical expertise with artistic sensibilities, and how recording studios work), and An Introducton to the Music Business, covering scouting for new talent, the role of management, how to market artists in a digital age, and the new structure of record labels .

Lecturers will include producers who have worked with Coldplay and Pink Floyd, Keane, and other well-known names from the music world.
