Death of Marjorie Payne MBE


Known for her work with Churches Together In Chiswick

 

The death has taken place of well-known Chiswick resident Marjorie Payne, who died on 15th Oct aged 91.

Marjorie was a devoted member of the Methodist Church on Sutton Court Road and had a number of important roles including being Treasurer for many years. She was also of Treasurer of Churches Together in Chiswick and the Saturday Luncheon Scheme for lonely and homeless people, in which all the Churches played a part.

She had been well known in Chiswick for her fascinating and amusing talks to various groups about her experiences of working in the courts. She was also involved with the Trefoil Guild.

Marjorie has been described as " an extremely generous and caring person, always

concerned for other people".

Her funeral is Nov 1st at 10am at Mortlake Crematorium.
