Blueprint For Hounslow New Centre On Show

Exhibition will be on public view over next few weeks

Plans to transform Hounslow’s town centre into an entertainment and shopping hotspot will be on show to the public over the next few weeks.

An exhibition of the Master Plan for Hounslow town centre will be outside the Treaty Centre in the High Street this Friday and Saturday (10 and 11 May) from 11am to 4pm.

There will also be further opportunities to see it at the Civic Centre from the 13 May to the 8 June, with a presentation at the Central Hounslow Area Forum on Thursday 16 May.

Councillor Ruth Cadbury, cabinet member for planning and regeneration, said: ”It’s crucial that we hear from residents about what they think of our plans to make their borough a more prosperous and better place to live and work.”

The plans include creating:

  • A lively town centre – which would increase choice for consumers during the day and night
  • Transforming the Alexandra Road and Holloway Street car parks into a shopping and entertainment complex including a cinema
  • Creating three distinct ‘quarters’ – Lampton, High Street and Kinglsey – which will offer an array of independent shops, housing and leisure facilities, including a new civic facility to include arts and performance

The consultation will run from the beginning of May to the beginning of June. For more details and documents visit consultations.
