Hogarth Singers Begin Rehearsals Again

Choir planning to perform Mozart's Requiem in November

Hogarth Singers, directed by Music Director Rupert Gill and accompanied by Andrew Wells, are starting rehearsals once again on Monday 6 September.

They take place from 7.30pm-9.30pm at St Michael and All Angels, Bath Road, W4 1TT.

The programme this term will feature a selection of Mozart’s music including his well-known Requiem, leading to a concert on 13 November.

All are welcome, especially tenors and basses. They are a non-auditioning choir although the music director will check any new member’s voice. It is, however, very useful to have some choral experience and the ability to read music is most beneficial.

Hogarth Singers is a chamber choir in Chiswick, which evolved from a choir set up in IBM called The Meistersingers in the early 1980s. It is a registered charity with the intention of promoting a love of choral music and developing public education in the art and science of music in all its aspects by presenting public concerts and recitals.

Membership ranges between 50 – 60 people and they sing a wide range of choral music, both sacred and secular. They sing three concerts each year but also organise other activities which enable the choir to sing in a new setting and to enjoy some more sociable experiences not always involving singing.

Further information is available from the choir's Facebook page.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
