David Tennant
February 23, 2025
One of Chiswick’s A-listers is to take part in a special fund-raising event for a local homeless charity.
The world-famous actor and personality David Tennant, who recently hosted the BAFTA’s, will be in conversation with the comedian, writer and podcaster Deborah Frances-White for An Evening with David Tennant.
Given the anticipated demand for tickets, which are expected to sell out quickly. The organisers have moved the event from the originally planned to St. Peter’s Acton Green which is on Southfield Road.
David will be talking about a range of matters from around 8pm on Thursday 13 March with doors open from 7.30pm.
He has been a constant presence on screen and stage ever since he burst on to the scene as the tenth Doctor Who in 2005. In addition to creating unforgettable characters in TV shows such as ‘Broadchurch’, ‘Staged’ and ‘Rivals’, he has appeared in numerous films and stage plays, winning positive reviews recently for his lead role in ‘Macbeth’, opposite Cush Jumbo. His packed schedule for the rest of 2025 includes appearing in the new ITV mini-series ‘The Hack’, filming ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ and fronting ‘The Genius’, a new reality game show.
Deborah Frances-White is an award-winning comedian and screenwriter, as well as the host of ‘The Guilty Feminist’ podcast. Her 2018 book of the same name was a Sunday Times Bestseller, and her second book, Six Conversations We’re Scared To Have, comes out in April.
Tickets cost £20 with proceeds going to support The Upper Room and can be purchased here.
The Upper Room is a frontline charity dedicated to supporting socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, including the homeless, ex-offenders, and destitute migrants. Established in 1990, it began as a modest initiative—a trestle table offering sandwiches outside a church—and has since evolved into a dynamic organisation addressing both immediate needs and long-term challenges faced by its beneficiaries.
Central to The Upper Room's mission is the provision of essential services through its 'Hub for the Homeless.' This includes offering hot meals, clothing, and bedding to those in need. In 2023, the charity served nearly 33,000 meals.
