Poignant Timing for West End Revival

Special performance of 'Our Boys' on Remembrance Sunday at the Tabard

A play highlighting the poor treatment of injured servicemen is to be performed at the Tabard Theatre in November.

'Our Boys' which tells the story of six young soldiers who are in a military hospital is a revival of a play first performed in the Donmar Warehouse in 1995.

They are veterans of the troubles in Northern Ireland and the Hyde Park bombing, with TV, games, cynical humour and pornography as their only means of mental escape.

Fired by the author’s anger at the Army’s neglect of its wounded heroes, the play is timely in the wake of accusations of poor equipment of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Jonathan Lewis will be reworking the script and assisting director Seb Billing's who has been assistant director on a number of West End productions. The cast includes Joseph Creeth, Tom Greaves, Rhys King, Christopher Kinneston, Philip Labey and Christian Walker.

The play will be performed from Tuesday 3rd November to Saturday 21st November at 7:30pm (Not on Sundays except on Remembrance Sunday 8th November). There is no performance on Monday 9th November.

There will be a special performance of the play on Remembrance Sunday November 8th in aid of the Royal British Legion.
