Pianist Fiachra Garvey to Perform at St Nicholas


Recital includes works from Debussy, Albeniz and Mussorgsky

Award winning pianist Fiachra Garvey is perform a recital at St. Nicholas Church later this month.

Programme:

Debussy: La Cathédrale Engloutie /L’isle Joyeuse

Albeniz: Triana

Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition

A prize winner in multiple internation competitions, he has performed in venues from the Fazioli Auditorium in Italy to London’s Wigmore Hall.

Fiachra graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, London in 2013 with 1st class honours and distinction in the M.A. in Music Performance. This follows a 1st class honours B.A. in Music Performance from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2011 and a 1st class honours DipMus (performance and teaching) from the RIAM in 2008.

Concerto appearances include the Janáček Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, RTE Concert Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra, RIAM Symphony Orchestra, Hibernian Orchestra and UCD Symphony Orchestra working with eminent conductors including John Wilson, Duncan Ward, Theodore Kuchar, Stephen Bell and Mihhail Gerts.

The concert is taking place on Sunday 27 October from 3-4pm. Tickets cost £10 or £5 for students with all payments by cash or card on the door or Eventbrite. You are invited stay afterwards for Tea and Cake for £5. All profits go to support emerging local young musicians at St Nicholas Church.
