The Bishop of Kensington, The Rt Revd Dr Emma Ineson, will be attended a conversational evensong at St. Nicholas Church.
This aims to be an evening of relaxed conversation, worship and music as well as a chance to find out a little more about Bishop Emma, what inspires and motivates her. Canapes will be offered after the service.
It takes place on Sunday 3 March at 6pm and all are welcome..
Dr Ineson has been Bishop for just over a year. Born in Birmingham in 1969 she was brought up in Kenya and South Wales and studied English language and linguistics at the University of Birmingham, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992.
She undertook postgraduate research in the "power and authority in the language of worship" at Birmingham and completed her PhD in 1998.
At the age of 24, while studying for her doctorate, she entered Trinity College, Bristol, an evangelical Anglican theological college to train for ordained ministry. She also studied theology and graduated with a further BA degree in 1999.
She is the author of Ambition: What Jesus said about Power, Success and Counting Stuff (SPCK 2019) and Failure: What Jesus said about sin, mistakes and messing stuff up, which is the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent book for 2023.
She lives in London with her husband, who is also a priest. They have two children; a son and a daughter, and a granddaughter.
